Isabelle E. Oliver

August 6, 1922 — July 22, 2021

In Loving Memory of Isabelle Erbrick Oliver, age 98, who passed from this earth of natural causes on July 22, 2021 at Spring House Estates in Lower Gwynedd, PA. Isabelle was born August 6, 1922 in Philadelphia, PA, the daughter of Arthur C. Jones and Marian C. (Oberholtzer) Jones. She grew up with her parents and two brothers, Arthur L. Jones and David Jones, in several neighborhoods and suburbs of Philadelphia, eventually completing her education at Moore College of Art. Over the course of her life, she created many beautiful paintings, which are cherished by her family and friends. She married Joseph E. Erbrick on July 22, 1944, and they had three sons, Joe, Bill and Bob. The family became long-time residents of Jenkintown, PA and members of Jenkintown United Methodist Church. Isabelle worked for many years at the Industrial Valley Bank, Jenkintown Station Branch, and also performed duties as Cub Scout Den Mother, PTA member and school sports booster. The family often enjoyed summer vacations in Ocean City, NJ. In Jenkintown, the Erbrick family enjoyed a close friendship with the Oliver family (Thomas A. Oliver, Jr., his wife Helen Getchell Oliver, and their children Connie, Judy, Tom and Betsy). Isabelle raised a poodle, Pierre, who was a puppy of Oliver’s poodle Chiffon. After the passing of Helen and subsequent passing of Joseph, Sr., Tom and Isabelle married with the full blessing of the two families and best wishes from their shared friends. After Tom passed, Isabelle moved to Spring House Estates. Isabelle is survived by her three sons Joseph E. Erbrick, Jr. (Donna), William D. Erbrick (Rana) and Robert S. Erbrick; grandchildren Jennifer Erbrick (Rob Kohler), Megan Sturm (Jason), Stephen Erbrick (Abby), and Jill Dries (Adam); great-grandchildren Brooke Sturm, Brett Sturm and Everett Dries. Surviving stepchildren from the Oliver family are Constance Grueterich (Karl), Judith Flegel (Frank) and Thomas Oliver III (Mimi), with many step-grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her sister-in-law Dolly Jones (David) also survives, as do cousins Nancy Kitch (Jerry), Barbara Roy (David), and several nieces and nephews. Her husband’s Joseph Erbrick and Thomas Oliver, Jr., her brothers Arthur Jones and David Jones, sister-in-law Catherine Jones (Arthur), nephew Arthur Jones, Jr. and step-daughter Elizabeth (Betsy) Dougherty (Charles) predeceased her. A memorial service will be held at 10:30 am on August 6, 2021 in the Chapel at Whitemarsh Memorial Park, 1169 Limekiln Pike, Ambler, PA 19002 (Phone 215-646-7500). A reception will follow, details to be announced after the service. Thanks to the staff of Spring House Estates who provided loving and competent nursing and hospice care in the final weeks of Isabelle’s life. Special thanks to Tom Oliver III for his continuing devoted attention to her, and to all the Oliver’s for keeping her a part of their family after their father passed away.
