J. Richard 'Dick' Devan

J. Richard "Dick" DeVan passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 29, 2014 at his residence in E. Norriton, PA. He was 82. Mr. DeVan worked as a salesperson for Macy's Department Store in Plymouth Meeting, PA. He was a member of St. Paul R. C. Church in Norristown, PA. Born in Philadelphia, PA on July 21, 1932, he was a son of the late John and Inga (Hodne) DeVan. He is lovingly remembered by many family members and friends including nieces, Elizabeth Anderson of Cambridge, Ohio and Bonnie Yeatman of Hockessin, DE, and friend, Marion Fairy of Norristown, PA.Dick graduated from the University of Pennsylvania with a Bachelor's degree and earned his Master's degree later in life from Villanova University. He was a faithful member of St. Paul's church and volunteered to drive folks to services that needed transportation. Dick was known in the community for being an avid runner and proudly completed many marathons. He was well known at Mercy Suburban Hospital where he volunteered many years of his life. Relatives & friends are invited to Dick's Funeral Mass at St. Paul R. C. Church, 2007 New Hope St., E. Norriton, PA on Wednesday, November 5, 2014 at 10:00 am. His viewing is Wednesday from 9 to 9:50 am, at the church. Interment will be in Trinity United Church of Christ Cemetery in Collegeville, PA.In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Dick's memory to Back On My Feet, 100 S.
