Jack R. Lohss, age 73 of Norristown, PA lost his battle to dementia on September 6, 2023. He was born on May 3, 1950 to the late George Lohss and Miriam Hartman of York, PA.
Jack is survived by his wife of 51 years, Spring S. Lohss of Norristown, PA; daughter Angela M. Jack and her husband Edward of Ashby, Massachusetts; daughter Betsy Lohss-Cutting and her wife Cherelle of Collegeville; and grandchildren Emma, Connor, Josiah and Addie.
He is also survived by his brother Michael Lohss and his wife Kathy and their children Amanda and Michael along with his sister-in-law, Anita, her husband, Brian and their son, Sean. Additionally, he is survived by his nephew Greg Smith.
He was predeceased by his sister, Linda Smith and her husband Ed Smith of York and nieces Roxanne Smith of FL and Nichole Lohss of Glen Rock.
Jack was a proud graduate of Penn State University and closely followed/cheered for Penn State, the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Baltimore Orioles, for over 60 years. After graduating college, Jack and Spring settled back in to their hometown, York, PA where they raised their two daughters.
Jack was an avid fisherman and hunter. His career was in human services before retiring from the York County Prison as an intake counselor. Jack loved to garden, cook, dabble in photography, and spend time with his wife and pets. He was a prolific blood donor, donating more than 5 gallons over the years, of which he was very proud.
Family and Friends are invited to attend a visitation on Friday, September 15, 2023 at Szpindor-Meyers Funeral Home, 101 N. Park Ave, Trooper, PA from 11:00 am – 12:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, please feel free to donate to an organization of your liking, in his memory.
