Jake Short

John Jacob Short “Jake”, 49 of Middletown, PA passed away suddenly and peacefully on Thursday, September 17, 2020 in Sarasota, FLA. Jake was born in West Chester, PA to Christine Kelly Short and the late John Francis Short on November 21, 1970. Jake is survived by his mother, Christine Kelly Short, his sister Deborah Dawson Bourbon and her husband Douglas Christopher Bourbon and their son Christian Douglas Bourbon, his sister in law Deborah Evans Keener, his nieces Danielle Jane Keener and Reanna Christine Keener. He is predeceased by his older brother Wyatt David Dawson. He is also survived by his many loving aunts, uncles and cousins on both the Kelly side and the Short side of the family; Elizabeth and Floyd Hertsfeld, Mary and John B Kelly III, Janet and Michael B Kelly, Peter B Kelly, Karolyn Kelly O’Keefe, Vincent Short and his wife Helen, Ralph and Marlene Short, Edward and Dee Short, Sara and Charles May, Rosemary and Michael Mascherino, and Marianne and Michael Short. Jake loved spending time with his family and enjoyed some of the happiest memories of his life with his cousins. Jake loved life and all the people he shared it with. He was always up for an adventure and never missed a get together or celebration. He had a ready smile for a friend, always made us laugh, and always looked out for the person that may need a lift. Jake had the ability to light up a room with his presence and gather people to share a good laugh, a good meal, and a great time. We will continue to celebrate your light, your life and your love. May you find peace and comfort with your father and our Heavenly Father in heaven and shine your light upon us as we remember the joy you brought to our lives.
