James Robert Altland

James Robert “Jim” Altland passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 15, 2019 at the University of Pennsylvania Medical Center in Philadelphia, PA. He was 70. Mr. Altland was a resident of King of Prussia, PA. He was a graduate of the University of Akron in Ohio, where he played football. Jim worked as a Financial Executive for many businesses in the area. He was a member of Mother of Divine Providence Church in King of Prussia, where he was associated with the Knights of Columbus and the Legion of Mary. Jim was also a member of the Society Hill Dance Academy and was very passionate about ballroom dancing. Born in Massillon, Ohio on January 13, 1949, he was a son of the late John Robert and Rosemary (Blough) Altland. Surviving is his loving family including a son, John Richard Altland and his partner, Jenn Spotts; daughter, Kelley Marie Altland and her partner, Roberto DeLeon; brother, Donald Altland and his wife, Susie; sister, Barbara Grey-Messenger and her husband, Tim; a niece, Amber (Messenger) Bankemper and her husband, Tom and their two children, Miles and Oscar; a nephew, Will Messenger and his wife, Jacqueline and their two children, Lucia and Francesca. Relatives & friends are invited to Jim’s viewing at The Bacchi Funeral Home and Crematory, Ltd., 805 DeKalb St. (Rt. 202), Bridgeport, PA on Sunday, December 22, 2019 from 6 to 8:00 pm. His Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Mother of Divine Providence Church, 333 Allendale Rd., King of Prussia, PA on Monday, December 23rd at 10:30 am. Interment will be in St. Augustine Cemetery, King of Prussia, PA. Jim fought a long, hard battle with AML Leukemia.
