James Michael Chorney

James Michael Chorney passed away peacefully on Monday, July 15, 2019. He was 68. Jim was a member of Mother of Divine Providence Church in King of Prussia, PA. He worked as an elevator mechanic and supervisor as a member of the I.U.E.C. Local #5 for over 30 years. Jim enjoyed spending weekends in Ocean City, fishing at Corson’s Inlet, working with his hands, and especially loved spending time with his beautiful grandchildren. Born in Akron, OH on August 20, 1950, he was a son of the late Michael and Helen (Silvanik) Chorney. Surviving are his loving family including his wife of 46 years, Janet L. (Sucik) Chorney; a son, Matthew (Carla) Chorney; two daughters, Nikola (Brian) Palakow and Shana (Jake) Twombly; 10 grandchildren; a sister, Michaeleen (James) Dougherty; and many other caring family members. He is preceded in death by a sister, Carol Ritson. Jim’s family will receive relatives and friends on Monday, July 22, 2019 at Mother of Divine Providence Church, 333 Allendale Rd., King of Prussia, PA 19406 from 9:00 to 10:20am, followed by his Funeral Mass at 10:30am. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in James’ memory to Fox Chase Cancer Center, 7701 Burholme Ave., Philadelphia, PA 19111.
