James C DeLaney

February 27, 1958 — March 30, 2026

West Norriton

Born on February 27, 1958, James was a lifelong resident of Norristown. He graduated from Norristown High School and began his long career with Montgomery County Roads and Bridges, where he dedicated many years of service and ultimately rose to the position of Superintendent before his retirement.

In 1988, James married Linda Dyer (Lombardi), and together they made their home in West Norriton Township, where they built a life together, welcoming Linda’s children into their family and sharing it with several beloved dogs over the years.

He was, by most accounts, a handful from the very beginning. As a child, he was a devoted prankster—equal parts clever and impossible to rein in.

That same spirit followed him into adulthood. James became known for his sharp sarcasm, blunt honesty, and a wit that could cut through nonsense in a single sentence. He said what he meant and meant what he said. But those who knew him best understood that beneath the rough edges was a deep and steady loyalty. His humor was how he connected, showed up, and made people laugh.

He left an impression everywhere he went—sometimes unpredictable, always unforgettable.

He will be remembered for the trouble he caused, the laughter he sparked, and his honesty. For all his mischief and sharp words, he lived fully, spoke freely, and made sure no one around him ever had a dull moment.

James is lovingly remembered by his wife, Linda; his children, Chris and Melissa; his siblings Geraldine, Thomas, William, and Patrick; as well as his many nieces, nephews,

The family will hold a private gathering to celebrate his life.
