James A. Fox

James A. Fox passed away peacefully on May 29, 2014, surrounded by the comfort of his loving family at Paoli Memorial Hospital. He was 79. A resident of King of Prussia for 50 years, he was an active member of the community and Mother of Divine Providence Parish. After graduating from Villanova in 1958, Jim taught history at Upper Merion High School for 38 years. As a husband, father, uncle, teacher, coach, and fan of Villanova, Mr. Fox touched many lives. Jim was born June 6, 1934 in Philadelphia, PA, the son of the late Harry A. and Elizabeth Gennett Fox. He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Teresa E. (Schmid), children, Anne T. Pellicano (Greg), James G. Fox (Karen), Bernadette M. Lielke (Mark), Megan C. Zandi (Peter), and Thomas J. Fox, 10 grandchildren and step grandchildren, and many loving, extended family members. He is preceded in death by his daughter in-law, GinaMarie Fox, brother, Harry R. Fox, and sister, Betty Jane Wood. The family will receive friends and relatives at Mother Divine Providence Church, 333 Allendale Road, King of Prussia, PA. 19406 on Tuesday, June 3, from 6 to 8 pm, and Wednesday, June 4 from 9 to 10:30 am. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11 am on Wednesday, June 4. Interment will be at the Washington Memorial Chapel Cemetery, Valley Forge National Park. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Jim's memory to the Missionary Sisters of Charity, 630 DeKalb St., Norristown, PA 19401 and/or the Villanova University Falvey Memorial Library, 800 Lancaster Ave., Villanova, PA 19085.
