James Grajewski

January 3, 1960 — March 6, 2019

James Grajewski of Wilmington, Delaware passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on the morning of Wednesday, March 6, 2019 at the age of 59. Whether you knew him as James, Jim, Jimmy, Jimbo, "UJ" or Big Guy, he was loved by a big family and many friends. He is survived by his six brothers and sisters: Mary Jo Rookard (Randy), Pat Casper (Dennis), Joe Grajewski (Carol), Peggy Carroll (Jerry), Matt Grajewski (Lynne) and Mark Grajewski (Renee); numerous nieces and nephews, dear friends, golf buddies, his daughter Nicole Grajewski, his loving ex-wife Joanne Staffieri, and his sassy dog, Bella. Jim's career skyrocketed as he conquered the reinsurance industry. He was dedicated to being a master of his craft for over 25 years. His prosperous career led him to many new states, including Florida where Jim and Joanne raised their one and only daughter Nicole in St. Petersburg. Jim's relationship with Nicole was undeniably special. They spent 28 years creating many traditions from Rays baseball games, early mornings at IHOP, weekend trips to the humane society and endless conversations with inspiring pep talks. Jim loved to spend his free time on the golf course with his favorite golf buddies. Spending quality time with his loved ones was a true delight, whether it was playing cards with his comare or helping "cook" in the kitchen by sneaking a taste. His humor always lit up a room and brought people together. Jim used that immense gift to "give back" to others by making them laugh. John Candy was an inspiration from a young age. Family and friends from near and far will receive an invitation to join the celebration of Jim's life in Wilmington, Delaware. Donations can be sent to his favorite charity, The Todd Bucher Foundation (www.toddbucherfoundation.org), in lieu of flowers.
