Obituary

James “Jim” Rawls was the beloved husband of Catherine (Kruzinski) Rawls. For 65 years, he was her steadfast partner, her greatest champion, and her favorite source of laughter. His devotion to Catherine was the cornerstone of everything he did. She was, without question, the great love of his life.

He proudly served his country in the United States Navy as a Signalman Second Class (SM2). Following his military service, Jim went on to build a distinguished career as a manager at Rohm and Haas in Philadelphia, where he was known for his strong work ethic and quiet dedication. Jim finished his working career serving at the IRS.

But it was outside of work where Jim truly shone in his role as Poppy. He was a man of deep warmth, silly and playful in the best possible way, the kind of person who could fill a room with joy simply by being in it. He gave generously of his time, his heart, and asked for nothing in return, except for maybe a hot dog, a PopTart or a Tastykake. Those who knew him knew that his family was his greatest pride, and he devoted his life to serving both his country and the people he held dear.

Jim is survived by his beloved wife, Catherine; children, Lisa (married to Joseph), Donna (married to William), and Jennifer (Married to Jeffry); grandchildren, David, Bridget, Anthony, Heaven, William, Nicholas, Gina, Isabella, Dominic, and Giuliana; great-grandchildren, Ariana, Veronnica, Michael, Andrew, Vincent, Victoria, Nicholas, Asher, Klara James, Benjamin, Alma, Noah, and Ella; and great-great-grandchild Lucia.
