James J. Regan, Jr.

James J. “Jim” Regan, Jr. passed away on Tuesday, January 12, 2016 at his residence in Worcester, PA. He was 87. Mr. Regan was a former resident of King of Prussia, PA. He worked as an assistant superintendant for the Norristown State Hospital. Jim was an original member of Mother of Divine Providence Church in King of Prussia. He was very much a family man who coached baseball and football for the King of Prussia Indians and was very involved with the Girl Scouts. Jim was a US Marine Corps veteran. Born in Staten Island, NY on April 12, 1928, he was a son of the late James J. and Helen (O’Brien) Regan, Sr. He was the husband of the late Joan (Fanning) Regan, who died in 2001. Surviving is his loving family including a son, James M. (Lynette) Regan of Lower Pottsgrove, PA; four daughters: Sharon (David) Knight Shafer of Allentown, PA, Rhonda (Larry) Wright Petro of Worcester, PA, Wendy J. (Scot) Limbert of Green Lane, PA and Kellie R. (Jim) Leary of King of Prussia, PA; 15 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; a brother, Donald (Rosemarie) Regan of Staten Island, NY; and many other loving family members. He was preceded in death by a sister, Joan Albitre. Relatives and friends are invited to Jim’s Funeral Mass at Mother of Divine Providence Church, 333 Allendale Rd., King of Prussia, PA on Wednesday, January 20, 2016 at 11:00 am. His viewing is Wednesday morning from 9:30 to 10:50 am, at the church. Interment will be in St. Agnes Cemetery, West Chester, PA.
