James M. Roberto

James M. “Jimmy” Roberto passed away peacefully on Monday, May 8, 2017, surrounded by his loving family at Lankenau Medical Center in Wynnewood, PA. He was 81. Mr. Roberto was a resident of Norristown, PA and was previously of Bridgeport, PA. He was the co-founder and co-owner of Jim & Ralph's Produce, “Loose Change Boys”, in Collegeville, PA. Jimmy was a member of the former Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Bridgeport, PA and a graduate of the former Bridgeport High School. Born in Bridgeport, PA on March 20, 1936, he was a son of the late Luigi and Angelina (Lombardino) Roberto. Surviving is his loving family including his wife of 20 years, Helen M. (Ostroski) Roberto; two sons, Stephen S. Roberto and his wife, Susan, of Collegeville, PA and David A. Roberto and his wife, Donna, of Bridgeport, PA; five grandchildren: Marissa, David, Taylor, Samantha and Sydney; a brother, Nicholas Roberto and his wife, Carolyn, of King of Prussia, PA; a daughter-in-law, Dawn Roberto of Norristown, PA; and many other loving family members. Jimmy was preceded in death by a son, James M. Roberto, Jr., who died in 2006; two brothers, Sam and Louis; five sisters: Mary Roberto, Vera Iacovino, Phyllis Cipollini, Antoinette Gallagher and Eleanor Dougherty; and his first wife, Mary Ann (Santoro) Roberto, who died in 1994. Relatives and friends are invited to Jimmy’s Funeral Mass at St. Teresa of Avila Church, 1260 S. Trooper Rd., Audubon, PA on Monday, May 15, 2017 at 10:00 am. His viewings are Sunday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 pm, at The Bacchi Funeral Home and Crematory, Ltd., 805 DeKalb St. (Rt. 202), Bridgeport, PA 19405; also Monday morning from 9:00 to 9:45 am, at the church. Interment will be in St. Augustine Cemetery, King of Prussia, PA. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Jimmy’s memory to a charity of the donor's choice.
