James I. Runkle, Sr.

James I. Runkle, Sr. passed away suddenly on Wednesday, January 10, 2018, at Suburban Community Hospital in E. Norriton, PA. He was 72. Mr. Runkle was a resident of Bridgeport, PA. He worked as a bookkeeper for many years. James was a member of Hope Community Church in King of Prussia, PA. Born in Bryn Mawr, PA on January 25, 1945, he was a son of the late Ivan A. and Gladys M. (Fowler) Runkle. Surviving is his loving family including a son, James I. Runkle, Jr. and his wife, Lauren, of Doylestown, PA; two daughters, Tricia Ann Shroyer and her husband, William, and Elizabeth May Runkle, both of Johnstown, PA; two sisters, Lenore Runkle of King of Prussia, PA and Dorothy Price of Phoenixville, PA; and many other loving family members. He was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Runkle; and two sisters, Margaret Horn and Virginia Runkle. James’ Memorial Service will be held at Hope Community Church, 150 E. Beidler Rd., King of Prussia, PA 19406 on Friday, January 12, 2018 at 7 pm. The family will receive relatives and friends on Friday from 5:30 to 7 pm. Interment will be private.
