Janet Jay Maier

Janet Jay Maier left peacefully for parts unknown on Saturday, February 3, 2018 at the Lankenau Medical Center. She was 84. Mrs. Maier was a resident of Gulph Mills, PA. She created and ran the American Cancer Society Holiday Cards Program for over 25 years, raising almost two million dollars. Born in Chillicothe, Ohio on November 23, 1933, she was the daughter of the late Harold M. and Karis (Sheffler) Jay. She was the wife of the late Dr. Willis P. Maier, Jr., who died in 1998. She is survived by a son, Willis P. Maier, III of Ardmore, PA; a daughter, Julia M. Razin and her husband, Richard, of Peachtree City, GA; three grandsons: Alex, Jack and Luke; a brother, Jon Jay and his wife, Jamie Simons, of Corona Del Mar, CA; and a niece, Karis. The family will receive relatives and friends at The Bacchi Funeral Home & Crematory, 805 DeKalb St. (Rt. 202), Bridgeport, PA on Friday, February 9, 2018 from 10:00 am to 12 noon. Interment will be private.
