Janet M. Tarsi

Janet M. (Catagnus) Tarsi, age 62 of Norristown, PA passed away on April 30, 2020 at Einstein Medical Center Montomery in East Norriton, PA after a 19-day battle with COVID-19. Born on August 6, 1957, Janet was the beloved daughter of the late Frederick A. Catagnus and the late Phyllis R. (Vuotto) and Bernard Fleming. She is also preceded in death by her brother, Salvatore F. Catagnus. Janet is survived by 8 siblings: Anthony Catagnus (Donna), Maria Denno (Jim), Deborah Heim (Robert), Leslie Hurrell, Frederick Catagnus, Nina Catagnus (Mark), Felicia Hurrell and Vincent Catagnus; Step-mother, Leslie Catagnus; many nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews. Janet was a 1975 graduate of Bishop Kenrick High School and worked at Victory Metal Manufacturing Company, as a data processor, for 20 years. She became disabled in 1997, after being diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis; For the next 20 years, she resided with her mother, who then became her caretaker. After the passing of her mother, Janet moved to Regina Nursing Center located in Norristown, PA, where she resided for the past 3 years. At Regina Nursing Center she enjoyed coffee-hour, doing crafts, having her hair and nails done and participating in all the parties. But Janet was most known for her love of playing Bingo. Janet had a sweet, gentle soul, good heart and loved talking to anyone who would listen to her. What we will miss most, is listening to her tell funny stories about her life (and there were many), and her singing along to her beloved Bruce Springsteen songs. Due to the current COVID-19 pandemic, a small private viewing will be held at Szpindor-Meyers Funeral Home, Trooper PA; along with interment at St. Patrick Cemetery, Norristown, PA occurring on Monday, May 4, 2020. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in Janet’s memory to Regina Nursing Center, 550 East Fornance Street, Norristown, PA 19401. Family asks you to share your fondest memories of Janet.
