Janet T. Taylor

Janet (nee Whiting) Malick Taylor, age 69, died on August 24, 2016, at a nursing facility in Paoli. She is survived by her husband, James H. "Jim" Taylor; sons, Daniel (Michelle) Malick and Kurt (Lynn) Malick; step-children, Cameron and Evan Taylor; grandchildren: Mackenzie, Jacob and Chas Malick; step-grandchildren, Emma and Julia Taylor; siblings, Carol Fryberger and Gordon Whiting; nieces: Sarah Fryberger, Chelsea Whiting and Vicki Szabo Thomas; and nephews: Eric Fryberger, Jeffrey Fryberger and Anthony Whiting. She was predeceased by her sister, Eileen Whiting Szabo; and first husband, David Malick. A 1964 graduate of Henderson High School, she attended West Chester State College, graduating in 1968 with a degree in Music Education. She worked for many years at United Way of Chester County and later moved to the insurance industry as an administrative assistant. She retired in 2013 from Willis of Pennsylvania. An avid musician, for over 30 years she was the accompanist of the Forty Niners Chorus in Chester County and travelled with them on several tours. She was a popular music director for many community theater groups and rehearsal pianist for the Gilbert and Sullivan Society of Chester Co. Janet also became a skilled theater technician, performing many backstage roles. She was a member of several sports car clubs and became a licensed race safety marshal. Janet was frequently assigned to tower communication duties at professional races and received commendations for her work. A Memorial Service will be held at St. John's Lutheran Church, 355 St. John's Circle, Phoenixville, PA 19460 on Saturday, September 10, 2016 at 12 noon. Interment will be private. Donations in her memory may be made to either the Main Line Health Home Care and Hospice Foundation, 240 North Radnor Chester Road, Suite 100, Radnor, PA 19087 or the Forty Niners Chorus, P.O. Box 402, West Chester, PA 19381.
