Jean (Peters) Buck

Jean (Peters) Buck passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 8, 2015 at Sunrise of Exton in Exton, PA. She was 88. Mrs. Buck was a lifelong resident of King of Prussia, PA before her illness. She was a homemaker for most of her life but also worked for Gimbels Department Store in the Men's Furnishing Department. Jean was a member of Mother of Divine Providence Church and the Newcomers Club, both in King of Prussia, PA. She was an avid painter and sculpturer, and she loved storytelling, reading and cooking. Jean was known for her wicked sense of humor. Born in San Diego, CA on April 7, 1926, she was a daughter of the late Merle (Hall)Garrenton and step-father, P.G. Garrenton. She grew up on the beach in Ocean View, VA and never tired of the sea or the sun. Jean was the wife of the late Charles Warren Buck, who died in 2010. Surviving is her loving family including two sons, Thomas C. Buck of Philadelphia, PA and Paul (Swagata) Buck of Bala Cynwyd, PA; four daughters: Kathryn B. (James) Hassert of Downingtown, PA, Aimie T. (Daniel) Lynch of Springfield, PA, Susan E. Buck (David Price), of Richmond, VA and Jennifer Ann (Karl) DeStolfo of Conshohocken, PA; eleven grandchildren: Emily, Laura, Jason, Jeremy (Jennifer), Shelby, Alison, Morgan, Cameron, Cole, Henry and Nishika; a sister, Lynne Fountaine of Fort Collins, CO; and many other loving family members. She was preceded in death by a brother, Louis Peters. Jean's Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Mother of Divine Providence Church, 333 Allendale Rd., King of Prussia, PA on Wednesday, March 11, 2015 at 11:00 am. Officiating will be the Rev. Martin T. Cioppi, pastor. The family will receive relatives and friends on Wednesday from 9:30 to 10:50 am, at the church.
