Jean M. Ellis-Fleming

Jean M. Ellis-Fleming of Hollywood, FL (formerly of Ardsley and Wyndmoor,PA.) died on Tuesday August 25th at the home of Steven and Linda Ellis after a diagnosis of metastatic cancer. She was 92. She was born on June 14, 1928 in Philadelphia, PA. She is predeceased in death by her first husband, George J. Ellis, her second husband William P. Fleming and her daughter Patricia Ellis Hague. She is survived by her two children James M. Ellis (Nansi) of Ft. Pierce, FL and Steven J. Ellis (Linda) of Hollywood, FL. She also leaves her beloved stepchildren Jean M. Fromuth (Stan) of Douglassville, PA, Barbara A. Pliskin (Mark) of Cincinnati, OH, William P. Fleming, Jr (Veronica) of Syracuse NY and Michael P. Fleming (Shirley) of Ardsley PA. She also leaves 11 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. Jean was an avid reader and lover of books. She was Assistant Librarian at La Salle High School in the 1960’s and later was a Research Librarian at Mc Neil Laboratories in Fort Washington PA, retiring as Research Library Manager in 1995. Jean loved her retirement, traveling on many trips and family visits. She had a wide circle of friends, and cherished the time spent at the former Finger’s Bistro in Erdenheim PA. Jean would have wanted to recognize the management and staff at Five Star Premier Residences of Hollywood, Florida; the caregivers from Trilogy Home Health, Responsive Home Care and VITAS of South Florida. She would also want you to tip your favorite server or bartender in her memory. Relatives and friends are invited to her visitation Saturday, April 23, 2022 from 9:50-10:20 AM and funeral mass at 10:30 AM both at Queen of Peace Church, 820 N Hills Ave, Glenside, PA 19038. Her interment will be held in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery following the mass. In lieu of flowers, please direct a donation to your local Humane Society, the ALS Foundation, or St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital as these institutions were close to her heart.
