Jeff "Poppy" Willis

Jeff Willis, 60, of Wilmington, DE passed away on January 26, 2023. He was born on August 22, 1962 to Leva O. Warder and the late Harry A. Willis. He is predeceased by his brother Francis “Skyler” Willis. Jeff is survived by his 3 sons; Shawn Willis (Christina), Brian Willis (Lauren), and Robert Willis; 5 grandchildren, Juliana, Cameron, Bella, Ava, and Beau; mother Leva Warder (Dennis Hobert); sister Cher James (Kevin); and his children’s mother Kim Walz (Paul).

Jeff was free spirit who appreciated laughing and telling jokes, socializing with his friends and especially cherished time with his family. He enjoyed many different hobbies including drawing and painting, boating, deep sea fishing, music and most of all dancing. Jeff took pride in helping to shape the lives of many children in to becoming young men. Some of his greatest memories and contributions occurred during his time served as head coach to the New Castle County Football league Glasgow Dragons and the St. Peter’s CYO wrestling team. He served as a member of the Delaware Wrestling Alliance (DWA) where he helped support the USA Wrestling “Team Delaware” national team. Jeff will forever be remembered for his boisterous personality, his wit and quirky humor, his infectious smile, his dance moves, and his love for his family.

Family and Friends are invited to attend a Funeral Mass 11 am Friday, February 24, 2023 at St. Mary of the Assumption Church, 7200 Lancaster Pike, Hockessin, De. Family will receive friends from 9:50 to 10:50 am at the church.
