Jennifer Anne Kessler (née Christy), 64, of King of Prussia (Philadelphia), Pennsylvania passed on October 27, 2015 after a lengthy battle with cancer. Born in Lincoln, Nebraska, she graduated Lincoln Southeast High School. After completing her Bachelors of Arts in Elementary Education at the University of Nebraska in Lincoln, she began her work as a librarian in the Lincoln Public Library system, before moving to Blacksburg, Virginia teaching elementary education. After returning to Lincoln, she pursued her love of history and continued her education at the University of Nebraska and eventually was accepted into the Georgetown Masters program and received her Masters of History with honors. Jenny continued to live in the Washington D.C. area, while working with the National Beer Wholesalers Association before moving to Philadelphia. In Philadelphia she worked with Zainy Brainy where she began her paralegal career, eventually working for Comcast Corporation as a Senior Paralegal. A strong and independent woman, Jenny was the best friend that you could have for long and deep or ridiculous silly conversations, hysterical escapades, or just quiet understood moments. Her quirky personality assured you could count on her to ride the carousel, scale a medieval castle wall, or meander through an arts festival and finish the day with a craft beer at a local bar. Her love of reading and history offered fun debates from history to politics. Later in life, she discovered the joy of travel taking trips with friends and family, often to the history filled places she read about. She is survived by her brother, J. Matthew Kessler and his wife, Elizabeth of Pittsburgh, PA; a sister, Kallan Elizabeth Miller and her husband, Bryan of Chicago, IL; her beloved nephews, Samuel Kessler and Benjamin “Benmiester” Kessler of Pittsburgh, PA, Ryan Grandick of Tucson, AZ and niece, Rachel Grandick of Council Bluffs, IA; her deeply loved cats, Alfie, Zelda and Maggie, who provided so much comfort to her. She was predeceased by her brother, John Allen Kessler and parents, Ardis and Milton Eugene (Joe) Kessler. A memorial celebration for Jenny, will be held on Saturday, November 14, 2015 from 1:00-3:00pm at the Black Powder Tavern, 1164 Valley Forge Rd, Wayne, PA 19087.
