Joan E. Barrie

On Sunday April 29th, 2018, Joan Eileen Barrie (née Fida) of Collegeville, PA, beloved wife of Donald Barrie, Mother to Glenn Barrie and Grammy to Gillian and Cameron Barrie, passed peacefully after a brief illness. She was 83. Joan was born and raised in the City of Philadelphia and she was one of nine children. In her youth, she spent summers in Long Beach Island, NJ and in later years, she enjoyed summering in Cape May, NJ with her family. Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Aunt and Godmother to numerous nieces and nephews, she will be sorely missed. She was predeceased by her Father, The Great Murph Fida and her Mother, Isabelle Fida (née Flanagan). She was also predeceased by her Brother Jimmy and her Sister Carol. In addition to her immediate family, she is survived by Sisters Barbara Duffy, Patty Tanski, Joyce Dougherty, Judy Gallo as well as her Brother Blair Fida. Friends and family are invited to her viewing from 3-3:45 with a service immediately following on Thursday May 3rd at the Szpindor- Meyers Funeral Home, located at 101 North Park Avenue in Trooper, PA 19403. Immediately following the service the family will host a reception in the memory of Joan.
