JoAnn T. Prinzivalli, 75, a lifelong Bridgeport, Pa. resident, died August 3, 2024 at Wesley
Enhanced Living Main Line in Media, Pa.
JoAnn was born December 21, 1948 to Harry and Theresa (Dell’Angelo) Prinzivalli. She
graduated from Bridgeport High School in 1966, the last graduating class of the school before
the merger with Upper Merion, and JoAnn was the salutatorian of the class. She worked briefly
at Quaker Chemical.
JoAnn graduated from Villanova University in 1972 with a B.S. in Elementary Education. She
was awarded a graduate assistantship at the university while pursuing a Master’s Degree in
Guidance and Counseling. She received her M.A. in 1973 with certification as a guidance
counselor for grades K through 12.
JoAnn began her career as a sixth grade teacher at Swedeland Elementary School in the Upper
Merion Area School District. She also taught at Roberts Elementary. She was the first lower
house counselor at the new middle school. In 1987, she moved to the new high school and
served as a counselor, ending her career there upon retirement in 2006.
JoAnn enjoyed cooking, baking, and vegetable gardening. She was a lover of the opera and
classical music, and for many years, kept a subscription to the Philadelphia Orchestra.
She was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church where she sang for the choir
for many years, before joining Sacred Heart Parish upon the closure of Our Lady of Mount
Carmel Catholic Church.
JoAnn is survived by her brother, Louis, and his spouse, Cindy, of Plymouth Meeting, Pa.; four
nephews, Michael of New Haven, Conn., Steven and his spouse, Britta, of Ephrata, Pa., Mark of
Plymouth Meeting, Pa., Andrew, and his spouse, Jenna, of Newtown Square, Pa., one grand
niece, Ivy, and three grand nephews, Xavier, Luke, and Jack.
Arrangements are being made through Bacchi Funeral Home in Bridgeport, Pa. with a Holy
Mass of Christian Burial to be held at Sacred Heart Parish in Swedesburg, Pa. on Thursday,
August 8th, at 11 a.m. ET with burial at Saint Augustine and Saint Monica Cemetery and
Mausoleum directly following.
