Joanne Margaret Mardi

Joanne Margaret Mardi passed away peacefully on Monday, October 5, 2020 at her residence in Gwynedd, PA. She was 63. Joanne served as a Vice President for the Wills Insurance Co. in King of Prussia, PA, and she was a member of the former Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Bridgeport, PA. Joanne was a passionate fisherwoman and boater and also enjoyed cooking, traveling and watching all of the Philadelphia sports teams. She was a member of the Ocean City Marlin and Tuna Club and enjoyed spending summers in Ocean City, NJ at her home on the bay. There she entertained her friends and family and walked the boardwalk. Joanne was very athletic and played softball, pickleball, basketball, tennis, trapshooting and Bocce ball. Joanne was an ultimate party planner and hostess and had outstanding skills in the kitchen. Planning her annual Night in Venice Party for the last 30 years was the highlight of her summer. She was a class reunion committee member of the Upper Merion Class of 1975. She had an infectious smile and it was a joy to meet and know her. Most of all, Joanne enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. Born in Norristown, PA on October 1, 1957, she was a daughter of Helen (Ritrovato) Mardi and the late Joseph J. Mardi Jr. Also surviving is her life partner, Stephen J. Finnegan Jr. of Gwynedd, PA and his grandchildren, TJ and Kendell; two sisters, Lenora M. (John) Bukata of Kennett Square, PA and Rosanne H. (Jeff, deceased) Kingkiner of Jeffersonville, PA; two nieces, Kristen L. (Carl) Neuser of Lincoln University, PA and Lisa M. (Joseph) Taraba of West Grove, PA; a great-niece, Karlee Neuser; and a great-nephew, Joseph Taraba; and aunts, uncles and many cousins. She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Joseph and Josephine (Vuotto) Mardi; and maternal grandparents, Gaetano and Rosina (Rosa) Ritrovato. The family will receive relatives and friends at the Bacchi Funeral Home and Crematory, Ltd., 805 DeKalb St. (Rt. 202), Bridgeport, PA on Thursday, October 15, 2020 from 6 to 8:00 pm. Masks and social distancing are required. A Funeral Mass and interment will be private.
