John J. ‘Jake’ Brobson, age 98 of Audubon, PA passed away on Thursday July 29, 2021, peacefully at his residence for 15 years in Shannondell. Jake was born in Scranton, PA on June 15, 1923, to the late Mary ‘Stewart’ and John David Brobson. John loved to golf and go bowling. When he retired, he moved to Florida and enjoyed playing golf with his neighbors. He loved country westerns and his idols were John Wayne and Johnny Cash. Jake worked for General Electric for 42 years in the Space Division. He was known by many names such as John, Jake, Buddy and Uncle Bud. John Joseph Brobson served as a member of the United States Army in the 366th. Harbour Craft Co. from January 1943 through January 1946, and he achieved the highest rank of Technician Fourth Grade while serving in the Southwest Pacific and New Guinea. John is preceded in death by his loving wife Mary Brobson (Layou). He is survived by 3 children, John P. (Kay) of Coral Springs, FL, James R. (Linda) of King of Prussia, PA, and Diane M. Galtieri of Trooper, PA; 7 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. Relatives and friends are invited to his viewing from 10-10:50 AM and to his Funeral Mass at 11 AM both on Tuesday August 3, 2021, at Visitation BVM Church 196 N trooper Rd. Norristown, PA 19403 There will be a second viewing on Wednesday August 4 from 11-12 Noon at the Eagen-Hughes Funeral Home 2908 Birney Ave. Scranton, PA 18509.
