John Burry

John Burry passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 2, 2012 at the Rittenhouse Pine Center in Norristown, PA. He was 90. Mr. Burry was a resident of Norristown, PA. He worked at Superior Tube Company in Collegeville, PA, for 58 years. John was a member of the VFW Post 7878 in King of Prussia, PA. Mr. Burry was a US Army Air Corps veteran of WW II, serving as a Master Sergeant in the European â€" African Theatre of Operations.Born in Fulton, NY on December 5, 1921, he was a son of the late Ignatius and Catherine (Ewanick) Burry. He was the husband of the late Carmella D. (Giannone) Burry, who died in 1962. Surviving is his loving family including a son, Richard J. Burry of Norristown, PA; a brother, Stephen Burry and his wife, Ruth of Eagleville, PA; two sisters, Sophia Murray of Norristown, PA and Catherine Proietto of Palmyra, PA. He was preceded in death by a brother, Michael Burry and a sister, Mary Gadzicki.John's Panakhyda Service will be held at The Bacchi Funeral Home and Crematory, Ltd., 805 DeKalb St. (Rt. 202) Bridgeport, PA 19405 on Friday, September 7, 2012 at 1:00 pm. Officiating will be Msgr. Dr. Ronald Popivchak, Pastor of SS. Peter & Paul Ukrainian Catholic Church, Bridgeport, PA. The family will receive relatives and friends on Friday afternoon from 12 to 12:50 pm, at the funeral home. Interment will be in St. Patrick's Cemetery, E. Norriton, PA.In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in John's memory to SS. Peter & Paul Ukrainian Catholic Church, 519 Union Ave., Bridgeport, PA 19405.www.bacchifuneralhome.com
