John C. Carras passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 3, 2016 at Harrison Senior Living in Coatesville, PA, where he resided for the past 2 years. He was 97. Mr. Carras was a life-long resident of King of Prussia, PA. He worked as an Electronic Technician for TRW. John enjoyed playing classical music and the violin, playing chess, electronics, and watching all the Philly Sports teams. He was a family man who was proud of his Greek heritage. John was a US Army veteran of WW II, serving in the European Theatre of Operations. Born in Bethlehem, PA on January 11, 1919, he was a son of the late Christ and Celia (Stauqus) Carras. He was the husband of the late Margaret I. “Peggy” (Price) Carras, who died in 2013. Surviving is his loving family including two sons, Chris J. Carras and his wife, Kathy, of Lansdale, PA and Dennis J. Carras and his wife, Cynthia, of Levittown, PA; two daughters, Margaret J. Carras and her partner, Sonni, of New London, PA and Lynne D. Humphries and her husband, Bryan, of Jim Thorpe, PA; eight grandchildren: Michael, Lorraine, Sharon, Christina, John, Stephanie, Nicholas and Alexander; seven great-grandchildren; and many other loving family members. He was preceded in death by four sisters: Jennie, Pappas, Mary Clemens, Ethel Weaver and Angie Leonard. John’s Funeral Service will be held at The Bacchi Funeral Home & Crematory, Ltd. 805 DeKalb St. (Rt. 202), Bridgeport, PA on Friday, July 8, 2016 at 11:00 am. Relatives and friends may call Friday morning from 10 to 11:00 am. Interment will be in Valley Forge Memorial Gardens, King of Prussia.
