John T. Conway, Sr. passed away peacefully on Friday, August 10, 2012 at ManorCare Health Services in King of Prussia, PA. He was 91. Mr. Conway was a resident of King of Prussia, PA and was formerly of Broomall, PA. He was an employee of Curtis Publishing Company for many years until 1969. He then worked for the US Postal Service. After leaving the US Postal Service on disability, he helped establish on-site postal service at Dunwoody Village in Newtown Square, PA. Being a longtime active member of St. Anastasia Parish in Newtown Square, PA, he was involved as an usher, extraordinary minister of Holy Communion, and a member of the St. Vincent DePaul Society. Mr. Conway was also a member of the Knights of Columbus and was a self-taught wood craftsman.Mr. Conway was an U.S. Army Veteran of WWII, serving from 1941 to 1945 in the South Pacific. Born in Philadelphia, PA on May 28, 1921, he was the son of the late Thomas and Katharine (Maguire) Conway. Mr. Conway was the husband of the late Sarah A.(Tomczak) Conway, who died in 2000. Surviving is his loving family including two sons, the Rev. Msgr. John T. Conway, pastor of Mary, Mother of the Redeemer Church in North Wales, PA and William S. Conway and his wife, Adele, of West Chester, PA; 6 grandchildren: William, Michael, Matthew, & Kevin Conway and Sarah and Andrew Zampitella; 3 great-grandchildren, Andrew Zampitella, Mckenzie Marino and Mason Conway; and many nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Susan Zampitella and three brothers. Relatives and friends are invited to John's Funeral Mass at Mother of Divine Providence Church, 333 Allendale Rd., King of Prussia, PA on Thursday, August 16, 2012 at 11:30am. Officiating will be his son, the Rev. Msgr. John T. Conway. His viewing will be Thursday morning from 9 to 11:15am, at Mother of Divine Providence Church. Interment will be in SS. Peter and Paul Cemetery, Marple Twp., PA. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Mr. Conway's memory to the Society of St. Vincent DePaul, 901 E. Luzerne St., Philadelphia, PA 19124 and/or St. Charles Borromeo Seminary, 100 E.
