John T. "Jake" Costello passed away suddenly on Monday, March 1, 2010 at Montgomery Hospital in Norristown, PA. He was 84. Mr. Costello was a resident of King of Prussia, PA. He worked as a self-employed plumber and was the owner and operator of Costello's Plumbing and Heating. Jake was a 25 year member of the Upper Merion Township Plumbing Board and he was an avid golfer. He was also a member of Mother of Divine Providence Church in King of Prussia, PA. Mr. Costello was a US Navy veteran of WW II. He served from 1943 to 1946 as a Seaman First Class in the Pacific Theatre of Operations.Born in Bryn Mawr, PA on November 29, 1925, he was a son of the late Martin and Susan (Mullen) Costello. Surviving are his loving family including his wife of 60 years, Janet R. (Gerhard) Costello; three daughters, Janet Moser and her husband, Joseph of Swedeland, PA, Barbara Dougherty and her husband, Reinoehl of Royersford, PA and Sharon L. Doherty and her husband, John of Phoenixville, PA; seven grandchildren: Joseph and his fiancée, Amanda, Jennifer and her husband, Kevin, Reinoehl, Kelly, Brendan, Devin and Erin; and many nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by 2 brothers, William and Martin Costello; and 2 sisters, Mary Pellerito and Betty Dunn. Relatives & friends are invited to his Funeral Mass at Mother of Divine Providence Church, 333 Allendale Rd., King of Prussia, PA 19406 on Friday, March 5, 2010 at 10:00am. Officiating will be the Rev. Msgr. John T. Conway, Pastor. Jake's viewing will be Friday morning from 9 to 9:50am, at the church. Interment will be in Riverside Cemetery, West Norriton, PA.Memorial contributions may be made in Jake's memory to the American Diabetes Association, 150 Monument Road, Suite 100, Bala Cynwyd, PA 19004 and/or the Crohns and Colitis Foundation, 367 E.
