John D. “David” Byrne, Jr. passed away peacefully on Friday, July 3, 2026 with his loving wife by his side at his residence in Revelle Senior Living, King of Prussia, PA. He was 85 years old. David was born and raised in Pittsburgh, PA. He served in the United States Navy from 1958 to 1962. He then went on to receive his Bachelor of Arts Degree from Indiana University of Pennsylvania and his Master’s Degree from St. Bonaventure University in Physics. David worked as a technical engineer for twenty years, focused on manufacturing operations for Vishay Intertechnology in Malvern, PA. While in Malvern he met his future wife and on August 1, 1981, he married his beloved wife, June Stover (Talpey). After leaving Vishay, David worked as a manufacturing expert for several companies resulting in moves to Williamsport, Pa, New Jersey and Sturbridge, Massachusetts where they made many friends. In retirement, the two of them resided for almost 20 years in Ocala, Florida before returning back to King of Prussia, Pa. in 2021. David enjoyed skiing, golfing, shopping, flea markets, woodworking, crossword puzzles, and going out to eat with June. David was very handy and finished several basements and recreation areas over the years.
Born on November 26, 1940, he was the son of the late Margaret and John David Byrne, Sr.
In addition to his wife, David is survived by his two step-sons, John Dale and his wife, Suzanne, and Jeff Dale and his wife, Barbara; seven grandchildren; and five great grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his sister, Cheryl Loukas of Irwin, Pa.
The family will receive relatives and friends on Monday, July 13, 2026 at The Bacchi Funeral Home & Crematory, 805 DeKalb St. Bridgeport, PA 19405 from 10am to 11am. His memorial service will begin at 11am. Interment will be private for the family.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in David’s name to the Alzheimer’s Association at https://donorservices.alz.org/
