John Joseph Donovan

John Joseph Donovan, 63, of Thorndale, passed away suddenly on Friday, June 28, 2019 at his home. He was the beloved husband of Veronika B. Donovan, with whom he shared 42 years of marriage. Born in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late John P. and Catherine G. Atchinson Donovan. John proudly served his country in the United States Air Force where he retired from after 20 years. He worked as a Metrologist for the Exelon Corporation since 1997. In addition to his wife, John is survived by his children, Christopher P. Donovan and his wife Heather, Kimberly M. Stanford and her husband Paul and Erin N. Donovan. He is also survived by 11 siblings and 3 grandchildren, Logan and McKenna Stanford and Carson Donovan. John was predeceased by a brother and a sister. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday July 3, 2019 at St. Joseph Church, 332 Manor Ave., Downingtown, where family and friends will be received from 9:00-10:45 a.m.. Interment will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, Downingtown. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in John’s name to Downingtown V.F.W. Post 845, 4601 Lincoln Highway, Downingtown, Pa 19335.
