John Gaydos

With sadness I want to share that John Gaydos passed away at his home on June 17, 2024.

He has dealt with the effects of Parkinson’s disease since his early 40’s for over 25 years. Parkinson’s robbed John of his health and some of the joy he looked forward to in life.

He loved to reminisce about his Junior high school days when he played football and was told by his coach later in life “He wished he had more players like him”. I think John’s favorite year was 7th or 8th grade where he found camaraderie with a special group of students.

He also loved to write short stories on Facebook, listen to favorite songs and bands on YouTube and read or watch Sherlock Holmes and James Bond books and movies. His large DVD and book collections reflected how much he loved that genre.

He could answer most Trivial pursuit or Jeopardy questions quickly and had a great memory especially for sports and movie trivia.

His youngest brother says the best thing about John was his laugh.

John was very independent and a good worker until he was diagnosed and went on disability.
