John J. (Jack) Hoban

Hoban John J. 'Jack' died June 14, 2011 at age 77 of Pennypack Woods & formerly of Tacony.  Mr. Hoban was born in Buckrun, PA on October 3, 1933, the son of the late Raymond and Helen (Barnyock) Hoban. Beloved husband for 53 years to Joan M. (nee Schwarz).  Loving father of Cathy Ann Ashcroft, Linda Heisler (Anthony), John J. Jr. (Kimberly) & Joan Shappell (Michael).  Survived by eight loving Grandchildren.  Dear brother of Thomas Hoban (the late Margaret) and Mary Frances Rowan (the late Harold) Beloved nephew of the late Genevieve & Tony DeStefano & cousin to Jimmy DeStefano.  Jack was a dedicated brick salesman at O.W. Ketcham, Inc. for over 25 years and former employee of PFCU and a  longtime active member of St. Leo the Great Church. He served in the U.S. Army. Relatives, friends and members of St. Leo's KofC Council #1294 & AOH #17 are invited to his funeral Mass Saturday 11 AM at St. Dominic Church 8504 Frankford Ave., Phila., PA 19136.  Family will receive friends at St. Dominic Church from 10-11 AM.  Interment to follow at St. Dominic Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers donations can be made to St. Dominic Church 8504 Frankford Avenue Phila., PA 19136 or to the Disabled American Veterans (DAV).
