John A. Ianieri, 82, of Willow Grove, PA, passed away Tuesday, October 23rd, 2018 peacefully, at Abington Memorial Hospital, Abington. John was born in Abington, PA on October 14, 1936, a son of the late Florence (Antenozzi) and Pantaleon Giuseppe Ianieri. He is also preceded by his brothers the late Primo and Gerald Ianieri. He was the loving husband of Mary Virginia (Heckman) Ianieri. For 58 years, they were married at St. Luke the Evangelist Church in Glenside, PA. Boating and waterskiing were some of his favorite past times and he always enjoyed participating in a game of pool, darts or shuffleboard. Let’s not forget the fact that he was a “foodie” and enjoyed stopping at his favorite food stops like; “Steve’s” for a cheesesteak, “Franzones” for an undercooked pizza, and “Lou’s” for a zep, just to name a few. John had a true appreciation for music and for different and unique items. He was an enthusiast for the unusual and “anything neat”. John is survived by his beloved wife Mary; his loving children Lisa Ortolani (David) and John Ianieri, Jr. (Megan); his devoted grandchildren Amanda, Christina, Samantha, Julianna, his 3 Great Grandchildren and his brother Rocco Ianieri (Betty). The family will receive relatives and friends from 9 AM to 10:45 AM and a Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 AM both on Monday, October 29, 2018 at St. Luke the Evangelist Church in Glenside, PA. His interment will be at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Breathing Room Foundation 600 West Ave. Jenkintown, PA 19046.
