John J. Mcquaid

John J. McQuaid passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 12, 2012, surrounded by his loving family at his residence in Bridgeport, PA. He was 58. Mr. McQuaid worked as a letter carrier for the US Postal Service, King of Prussia branch. He was a member of St. Augustine R.C. Church, Bridgeport, PA. John was also a member of the Norristown Maenner-Chor Club, AOH in Swedesburg, and a social member of the Goodwill Fire Co. in Bridgeport, PA. Born in Norristown, PA on November 25, 1953, he was a son of the late John J. and Elsie V. (Stilfield) McQuaid. Surviving is his loving family including his wife of 39 years, Maureen (Kelly) McQuaid; two sons, John J. McQuaid and his wife, Carrie, of E. Norriton, PA and Jeffrey M. McQuaid of Bridgeport, PA; two daughters, Jennifer Shainline and her husband, David, of Boyertown, PA and Jillian M. Charles and her husband, Chris, of Bridgeport, PA; five grandchildren: Jacob, Connor, Collin, Elise & Christian; a brother, Michael P. McQuaid and his wife, Denise, of Collegeville, PA; father-in-law, John Kelly; two brothers-in-law, Jack Kelly and Terry & Bobbie Kelly; three sisters-in-law, Kathleen & Bob DeStefano, Eileen & Tom Daley and Coleen & Michael Popowicz; and many nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by a sister, Helen Wildman; and mother-in-law, Marie (Wagner) Kelly. Relatives & friends are invited to John's Funeral Mass at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 502 Ford St., Bridgeport, PA 19405 on Wednesday, May 16, 2012 at 11:30 am. His viewing will be Wednesday morning from 9 to 11:15am, at the church. Interment will be in St. Augustine Cemetery, King of Prussia, PA. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in John's memory to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
