John "Jack" E. Scherer

John (Jack) E. Scherer Jr., 5/29/1928-3/29/2019: Known to many as “Kojack”, he was active in local baseball & softball as a participant , coach and umpire for decades. Jack was often seen sitting on his front porch (with cigar) viewing & critiquing activities at Jenkintown Field. He is survived by his wife Doris, 4 sons; George, John, Tom & Matt; grandfather to 10 and great grandfather to 3. Family will greet visitors at the Joseph J. McGoldrick Funeral Home in Jenkintown on Thursday, April 4, 2019 from 4-7 PM, followed by a celebration at the McSwiney Club also in Jenkintown from 7-10pm. Private interment Friday April 5.
