John L. "Jack" Deegan

December 7, 1932 — July 6, 2025

John L. Deegan, known to many as Jack, passed away on Sunday, July 6, 2025 at the Wayne Center in Wayne, PA after an illness related to Parkinson's Disease. Jack was a long-time resident of King of Prussia, PA. Before his retirement, he served as a Patrol Officer, Detective, and Sergeant with the Upper Merion Twp. Police Department. He also proudly served our country for four years in the U.S. Air Force.

Jack was an avid reader and golfer who also loved to hunt, ski, and ride his BMW motorcycle.

Born in Bridgeport, PA on December 7, 1932, Jack was the son of the late Laura and Daniel Deegan. He was the loving husband of Marion.

Jack was a proud and devoted grandfather who rarely missed a chance to cheer on his grandchildren. Whether it was a school event, sports game, dance recital, or graduation, he was always there. His love extended to the family's four-legged members as well; Jack had a special fondness for his grand dogs, who never failed to bring a twinkle to his eye and a smile to his face.

He was preceded in death by his siblings: Frank, Robert, Laurence, and Dolores. In Addition to Marion, Jack is survived by his sister, Alice; three daughters, Maria Monzo, Alice (Dave) Darrah, and Kate Deegan; and a son, Michael (Lorinda) Deegan. His family also includes five stepdaughters: Amy (Rob) Cooper, Rebecca (Dave Long) Gryga, Kate (Darren) McKannan, Nora Cohan, and Nancy (Mike) Dirks, along with many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

The family would like to express their deepest gratitude to the compassionate and dedicated staff of the Wayne Center and Ascend Hospice for their exceptional care and kindness.

At Jack's request, no service will be held. Those who knew him know he disliked being the center of attention and never cared for the fuss.

Memorial contributions in Jack's honor may be made to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research at www.michaeljfox.org

Arrangements are being managed by The Bacchi Funeral Home & Crematory, Ltd., Bridgeport, PA
