John V. Leflar passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 2, 2010, surrounded by his loving family at his residence in King of Prussia, PA. He was 75. Mr. Leflar worked as a warehouseman for Fleming Foods in King of Prussia, PA, for over 35 years and he was also a crossing guard at Valley Forge and General Steuben Roads, for 5 years. John enjoyed golf, fishing and playing cards. Mr. Leflar was a US Air Force veteran of the Korean Conflict, serving from 1953 to 1958, with the 58th Air Division. Born in Bridgeport, PA on January 16, 1935, he was a son of the late George J. and Mary C. (Nailon) Leflar. Surviving is his loving family including his wife of 50 years, Donna L. (Weimer) Leflar; three sons, Donald V. Leflar of Pottstown, PA, Daniel G. Leflar of King of Prussia, PA and John Douglas Leflar and his wife, Michele of Sicklersville, NJ; two daughters, Jackie Lee of Pompano Beach, FL and Vicki L. Russo and her husband, Ralph of Trooper, PA; seven grandchildren: John V. III, Laura Lee, Emma, Peyton and Travis Leflar, Joey Russo and Amber Ritzheimer; three great-grandchildren: Jocelyn, Philip and Aaron; a sister, Carol A. Interrante of Pottstown, PA; and many nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by a son, John V. Leflar, Jr; 4 brothers, George Jr., Joseph, William and Gerald; and 3 sisters, Marion C. Cauffman, Eleanore C. Redcay and Joan M. Leflar. Relatives & friends are invited to his Funeral Mass at Mother of Divine Providence Church, 333 Allendale Rd., King of Prussia, PA 19406 on Thursday, May 6, 2010 at 10:00am. Officiating will be Mr. Leflar's nephew, the Rev. T. Christopher Redcay. His viewings will be Wednesday evening from 6 to 8pm, and Thursday morning from 8:30 to 9:20am, both at The Bacchi Funeral Home & Crematory, Ltd., 805 DeKalb St., (Rt. 202), Bridgeport, PA 19405.Interment will be in Rosedale Memorial Park Inc., 3850 Richlieu Rd., Bensalem, PA 19020. Please meet at the cemetery office on Thursday morning by 11:45am, for procession to the gravesite.In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 1626 Locust St., Philadelphia, PA 19103.
