John F. Link, Jr.

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the loss of John F. Link, Jr., who passed away at the age of 82 on March 3rd, 2025, after a courageous battle with cancer.

Born in 1942 to John F. Link, Sr. and Mildred Catherine Bateman, John grew up in Newark, DE. He was predeceased by his sister, Barbara Marie Forte, and is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Katherine (Blauvelt) Link, and their four daughters: Sharon (David) O'Shaughnessy, Jennifer (Fabien) Russell, Suzanne (Josh) Fletcher, and Michelle (Dirk) Pennington. He was a devoted grandfather to his ten grandchildren: Alex, Rachel, Myles, Sarah, Reid, Parker, Brett, Christian, Evan, and Aidan.

John had a distinguished career, earning a Bachelor of Arts in Physics from the University of Delaware, a Master's of Science - Engineering in Computer and Information Sciences, and completing the Harvard Program for Management Development. He began his career at Fidelity Mutual and later spent 28 successful years at Sun Company, Inc., where he rose to the position of Corporate Director of Information Systems. In 1994, he joined QVC as a consultant and excelled as the Executive Vice President, Information Technology and Chief Information Officer, retiring in 2001.

He also volunteered his time and computer expertise for several regional entities, including Drexel University and the Philadelphia School District, and also served on the Pennsylvania Information Technology Corporate Advisory Council.

Throughout his life, John enjoyed playing baseball and basketball, and was especially passionate about playing golf. He enjoyed watching many sports and was a fanatical Eagles fan.

John was a devoted family man who cherished spending time with his loved ones. Anyone who knew him would be captivated by his remarkable ability to tell a great story. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who knew him. His selfless generosity, venerable integrity, depth of wisdom, intelligence and quick wit will always be remembered.

Services will be held at St. David's Country Club, 845 Radnor Street Rd., Wayne, Pa 19087, on Sunday, May 18th, 2025, at 3pm.
