John Francis Mccormick, Sr.

John Francis McCormick, Sr. passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 3, 2013 at Chandler Hall in Newtown, PA. He was 78. Mr. McCormick was a resident of King of Prussia, PA. He worked as a Systems Engineer for the former General Electric Company in King of Prussia, PA for 34 years. John was a member of Mother of Divine Providence Church in King of Prussia. He was also a member of the Society of Professional Engineers. Mr. McCormick was a US Army veteran of the Korean Conflict, serving as a Sergeant from 1954 to 1957.Born in Philadelphia, PA on September 2, 1934, he was a son of the late Joseph F. and Cecilia T. (Gallop) McCormick. He was the husband of the late Sarah A. (Pepe) McCormick, who died June 20, 2013. Surviving is his loving family including two sons, Joseph A. McCormick and his wife, Linda, of Audubon, PA and John F. McCormick and his wife, Maria, of Wrightstown, NJ; a daughter, Donna M. Flegal and her husband, Ron, of Monmouth Junction, NJ; eleven grandchildren: Matthew, Ryan, Shaun, John, Brian, Nicholas, Morgan, Andrew, Sarah, Cody and Christian; a great-granddaughter, Aubrey; a brother, William "Bill" McCormick and his wife, Mary, of Glenolden, PA; and many nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Ann C. Allen; and two sisters, Marie McCormick and Joan Doyle. John's Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Mother of Divine Providence Church, 333 Allendale Rd., King of Prussia, PA 19406 on Monday, July 8, 2013 at 10:00am. Officiating will be the Rev. Martin T. Cioppi, Pastor. The family will receive relatives & friends on Monday morning from 9 to 9:50am, at the church. Interment will be in SS.
