John A. 'Jack' Mcquaid

John A. “Jack” McQuaid passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 4, 2015 at Brittany Pointe Estates in Lansdale, PA. He was 87. Mr. McQuaid was a resident of Blue Bell PA and former resident of Bridgeport, PA. He was a member of Corpus Christi Catholic Church in Lansdale, PA. Jack worked for over 44 years for the former Burlington Industries in Audubon, PA, retiring in 1990 as an Office Supervisor. He was the Fire Chief and Ambulance Chairman of Goodwill Fire Company of Bridgeport, PA for over 25 years. Jack enjoyed fishing, boating, hunting, golfing and spending time with his family. He was a World War II Army Veteran and was a member of the VFW in Lansdale and the American Legion. Born in Bridgeport, PA on December 31, 1927, he was the son of the late John B. and Anne B. (Brennan) McQuaid. Surviving is his loving family including his wife of 65 years, Elizabeth J. (Mullen) McQuaid; 2 daughters, Frances M. Gagliardi and her husband, William, of Lansdale, PA and Elizabeth J. Homa and her husband, Dr. George Homa, of North Wales, PA; 3 sons: John J. McQuaid and his wife, Sharon, of Diamondhead, MS, Brian P. McQuaid of Spring City, PA and Sean M. McQuaid and his wife, Geraldine, of Jeffersonville, PA; 9 grandchildren: Lori Anne, Jaclyn, William, Gregory, John, Brian, Sean, Jack and Shane; 3 great-grandchildren: Maura, Ella and Lillian; a sister, Margaret Anne McQuaid of Audubon, PA; and many nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by 3 brothers: Charles McQuaid, Francis McQuaid and Robert McQuaid. Relatives and friends are invited to Jack’s Funeral Mass at Corpus Christ Catholic Church, 900 Sumneytown Pike, Lansdale, PA on Friday, October 9, 2015 at 10:30 am. His viewing will be Friday morning from 9 to 10:20 am, at the church. Interment will be in St. Matthew Cemetery, Conshohocken, PA.
