John entered into the company of the Angels, just six days after his 73rd birthday. He was the proud son of the late Catherine O'Donnell Morley and John Patrick Morley, Sr. and the oldest of their seven children. He was born in Southwest Philadelphia, but grew up in Havertown, Pa. He attended St. Denis School and was a “Bonner Boy”, graduating in the class of ‘66. He briefly attended Villanova University, taking night classes while working at Girard Bank. In 1968, he was drafted into the United States Army. He did a tour of duty in the Infantry in Vietnam, carrying a 25 lb. radio on his back all the while. He advanced in rank from Pvt. To Sgt. during that year. He was awarded a Bronze Star for valor. John then worked at McNeil, NVIP, GDS, which was acquired by EDS and then FIS Global, where he worked for many years, as a Project Manager in the Real Estate Division. He was a dedicated employee who thoroughly enjoyed his work and the comradery his co-workers. John was a hardworking, thoughtful & fun-loving man. His biggest joy was found in the times that he spent with his family. John especially cherished the vacations that he had with his family and friends in Wildwood, N.J. He looked forward to planning the trips every year. He was a loving husband and a devoted Dad, coaching various teams at St. Ephrem and getting involved in everything his children did, even being the MC at their dance recital for 18 years! John is survived by his wife of 51 years, Joan Fox Morley, his two daughters, Laura Morley of Whitehall, Pa. and Melissa Morley and his much loved and admired future son-in-law, Kevin Wilson, one brother, Dr. Thomas Morley (Dottie), two sisters, Mary Vuono (Vince), Theresa Morley and a sister-in-law, Barbara Morley. Also surviving are many, many nieces and nephews, and his large extended family. Aside from his parents, John was preceded in death by his son, Jonathan Michael Morley, his brother James Morley & two sisters, Kathleen & Eileen Morley. Services will be at St. Ephrem Church, 5400 Hulmeville Rd. Bensalem, PA on Wednesday, November 10th with a viewing at 9:50am followed by a mass of resurrection at 11am. Interment will be private.
