John Joseph Prante passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 2, 2013 at Aria Health System in Langhorne, PA. He was 69. Mr. Prante was a resident of Bridgeport, PA and was formerly of Philadelphia, PA. He was a steel worker for the Bethlehem Steel Company. John was a member of Old Saint Mary's Church in Philadelphia, PA and a former member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Bridgeport, PA. He coached CYO basketball for over 20 years for St. Augustine-OLMC and also the King of Prussia Indian's football team. He enjoyed boxing and drawing. John loved God and his church. Mr. Prante was a US Army veteran. Born in Philadelphia, PA on March 4, 1944, he was a son of the late Edward G. and Irene K. (Passalacqua) Prante. Surviving is his loving family including two sons, Patrick J. Prante of Collegeville, PA and Christopher J. Prante of Norristown, PA; a daughter, Stacey Anne Prante of Bridgeport, PA; ten grandchildren: Rebecca, Olivia, Patrick, Abigail, Stephanie, Jacob, Joseph, Jesse, Joshua and Johnny; a great-grandson, Troy; former daughter-in-law, Carolyn Prante; his former wife, Beverly (Jackson) and her husband, John Loftus; and many nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by two brothers, William and Edward Prante. John's Prayer Service will be held at The Bacchi Funeral Home and Crematory, Ltd., 805 DeKalb St. (Rt. 202), Bridgeport, PA 19405 on Saturday, April 13, 2013 at 2:30 pm. The family will receive relatives and friends on Saturday afternoon from 1 to 2:20 pm, at the funeral home.
