John A. Ranieri passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 8, 2010 at Life Care Hospital in West Chester, Pa. He was 86. Mr. Ranieri was a resident of Bridgeport, Pa and was a forman for Tube Methods in Bridgeport, Pa, where he retired in the 1980's working 30 years for the company. John served in the US Army as a medic during WWII, and was awarded the Purple Heart along with many other honors. Born in Bridgeport, PA on May 6, 1924, he was a son of the late Ferdinand and Terese (DiOrio) Ranieri. John was the husband of the late Sally (Zaborowski) Ranieri who died in 2004. Surviving are his loving family including two daughters, Monica Louise Ranieri of Bridgeport, PA and Michelle J. Eppleman and her husband Robert, of Bridgeport, Pa; a grandson, Adam C. Eppleman; and many nephews and nieces. The youngest of 9 children, John is preceded in death by all of his siblings. Relatives and friends are invited to his Funeral Service at The Bacchi Funeral Home & Crematory, Ltd., 805 DeKalb St, (Rt 202) Bridgeport, PA 19405 on Saturday, June 12, 2010 at 10:00am. Interment will be at Valley Forge Memorial Gardens, King of Prussia, PA. His viewing will be Saturday morning from 9 to 9:50am, at the funeral home.John was an avid animal lover, so in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his memory to Schuylkill Wildlife Rehab Center, 304 Port Royal Ave., Philadelphia, PA 19128 and/or the Namcha Home for Wayward Animals, PO Box 145, Elverson, PA 19520.
