John A. Riddell

John A. "Jack" Riddell passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 6, 2011, at his residence in the Meadows at Shannondell in Audubon, PA. He was 82. HE battled ALS for nearly three years with the same strenght, courage, and determination that he displayed through out his life. Jack held a Ph.D. from Perdue University and worked for FMC Corporation in Phialdelphia before retiring in the 1990's. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, and brother. We will all miss him dearly. Born in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada on February 26, 1928, he was a son of Robert A. and Mary E. (Thompson) Riddell. Jack is survived by his wife of nearly 60 years, Ruth (Carlisle) Riddell; a son, John R. Riddell and his wife, Trudy; a daughter, Barbara Marks and her husband, Eric; five grandchildren: Meredith, Lauren and Ryan Riddell and Daniel and Melissa Marks; and a sister, Elizabeth "Betty" Hendrie.A memorial service to celebrate Jack's life will be held on Saturday, March 5, 2011 at 1:30pm at the Wayne Presbyterian Church, 125 East Lancaster Ave., Wayne, PA 19087.In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate a donation in Jack's memory to the ALS Association, Greater Philadelphia Chapter, 321 Norristown Rd., Suite 260, Ambler, PA 19002 or to the Wayne Presbyterian church, at the above address.Thanks to all for your friendship and support.
