John James Scanlon

It is with great sadness that the family of John James Scanlon (Angel, Ace) announce his sudden passing in Philadelphia on Thursday, November 24, 2022 at the age of 59. Dear son of the late Maryann Scanlon (Leneghan) and Patrick Scanlon. Beloved brother of the late Joan, Marrion, and Ann Scanlon. John James is survived by his loving siblings Kathleen (Liam), Patrick, Anthony, Monica, Brian (Janet), Linda (Michael), and Kevin (Jennifer). John is also survived by many nieces and nephews including Sean, John, Brian, Paul, Erin, Padraig, Bridget, Taylor, Thomas, Megan, Maura, Colin, Kevin, Kevin Thomas, Kathleen, and Owen.

John loved to watch football and wrestling, read the daily newspaper, and cheer on his favorite Dallas Cowboys team. He was a simple man; one with a heart of gold and someone that didn’t require much to keep him happy. John’s undeniable charisma, humor, and quick wit was treasured and will be sorely missed by all.

Friends and family may gather for John’s Celebration of Life at Saint Martin of Tours Church on Friday, December 2nd at 10 AM, with funeral mass to follow at 11 AM.
