John F. Tornetta passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 27, 2012, surrounded by his loving family at his residence in Trooper, PA. He was 77. Mr. Tornetta was a retired warehouse worker for the former Fleming Foods in Oaks, PA. He was a member of Visitation BVM Church in Trooper, PA. John graduated from Norristown High School, Class of 1952. He was an avid fisherman and sportsman who loved the Philadelphia sports teams. Mr. Tornetta was a veteran of the US Army National Guard, serving from 1957 to 1963. Born in Norristown, PA on May 23, 1935, he was a son of the late Charles F. and Stella (Matkowski) Tornetta. Surviving is his loving family including his wife, of 54 years, Lillian L. (Bacchi) Tornetta; a son, Matthew F. Tornetta and his wife, Beth Ann of Trooper, PA; two daughters, Dawn M. Key and her husband, Robert of Collegeville, PA and Dana A. Tornetta-D'Angelo of Gilbertsville, PA; two grandchildren, Paige and Jake; and many nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by a brother, Frank, and a sister, Millie Tornetta. John's Prayer Service will be held at The Bacchi Funeral Home & Crematory, Ltd., 805 DeKalb St. (Rt. 202), Bridgeport, PA 19405 on Saturday, June 30, 2012 at 10:00 am. Relatives and friends may call Saturday morning from 9 to 9:50 am, at the funeral home.
