John Kenneth (Jack) Wanner passed away on March 25, at age 92. Born in Norristown, John (Jack) was the son of the late John Percival (Percy) and Gertrude (nee Munshower) Wanner. John was a retired self-employed roofer and sheet metal worker who lived and worked in the Norristown area for many years. John served in the US Army during WWII and was awarded a Purple Heart for wounds received during the Battle of Anzio. Relatives and friends are invited to John’s Celebration of Life at Charity Lodge 190, 472 Burnside Ave., Norristown, on Tuesday, April 4, from 10 am to 1 pm. Military Honors will be at 12 noon. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Shriners Hospitals for Children, 3551 N. Broad St. Philadelphia, PA 19140 or Ascend Hospice, 108 Cowpath Road, Suite 3 & 4, Lansdale, PA 19446. Arrangements entrusted to Szpindor-Meyers Funeral Home.
