Jose S. “Serge” Botero, age 99, passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 30, 2021, surrounded by his loving family at his residence in King of Prussia, PA. He was also of Largo, Florida. Mr. Botero came to New York in 1948 from Colombia, South America. He first worked at the Graham Company, then in 1958 started working for American Cyanamid in the Veterinary and Agricultural Department in NY. In 1968 he took a job at Wyeth Laboratories in Wayne, PA and moved to King of Prussia. Serge earned an Associates Degree from Temple University in Business Administration. In 1977, he started working for the SKF Ball Bearing Company in King of Prussia, retiring in 1992. He was a member of Mother of Divine Providence Church in King of Prussia. Serge loved traveling, golf, shuffleboard, tennis and especially spending time with his family. He enjoyed his retirement in Largo, Fl, where he lived for 22 years with his wife, Bridie. Born in Colombia on July 27, 1922, he was a son of the late Leopoldo and Luisa (Ramos) Botero; and the husband of the late Bridget K. “Bridie” (Moran) Botero, who died in 2015. Surviving is his loving family including two sons, Kevin J. (Angela) Botero and John J. (Donna Luebkert) Botero; two daughters, Patricia L. (Anthony) Metricarti and Barbara M. (Jeff) Dale; nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; a brother, David (Maria Cristina) Botero; and many other loving family members. He was preceded in death by three brothers: Gilberto, Samuel and Joel; and two sisters, Irene and Sr. Maria Fabiola. Relatives & Friends are invited to Serge’s viewing at Mother of Divine Providence Church, 333 Allendale Road, King of Prussia, PA on Thursday, October 7, 2021 from 9:30 to 10:15 am; with his Funeral Mass at 10:30 am. Interment will be in St. Augustine Cemetery, King of Prussia, PA.
