Joseph B. "Jay" Foley passed away on Wednesday, July 22, 2009 at Mercy Suburban Hospital in E. Norriton, PA. He was 57. Mr. Foley was a resident of Bridgeport, PA. He worked as a logistic manager for AMP Special Industries and Standard Electronics in Norristown, PA since 1990. Jay was a graduate of Bishop Kenrick High School, Class of 1970. He was a Bridgeport Boro Councilman for the 1st Ward. He was also involved in many Bridgeport activities including the Bridgeport Little League where he was a coach and umpire, the Bridgeport Dragons, Bridgeport Park & Rec. co-chairing the Anthony Valerio Golf Outing and he was a member of the Knights of Columbus where he was involved with bingo. He was also a maitre'd for the former Camelot. Jay also participated in the Philadelphia Thanksgiving Day and 4th of July Parades.Born in Norristown, PA on June 1, 1952, he was a son of Evelyn V. (Powers) Foley of Norristown, PA and the late Joseph E. Foley. Surviving are his loving family including his mother; his wife of 33 years, Nancy J. Foley; a son, Timothy R. Foley and his wife, Dana of Chicago, IL; a daughter, Jessica J. Foley of Orlando FL; a granddaughter, Kate E. and a grandson due in November; three brothers, Jack J. Foley and his wife, Joan of Trooper, PA, Thomas J. Foley and his wife, Bea of Locust Hill, VA and Stanley G. Foley and his wife, Kathleen of Limerick, PA; three sisters, Linda F. Ochnich and her husband, Jack of Norristown, PA, Karen A. Connors and her husband, Daniel of Oaks, PA and Christine M. Gambone and her husband, Joseph Jr. of Limerick, PA; and many nephews and nieces. Relatives & friends are invited to his Funeral Mass at St. Augustine R.C. Church, 464 Ford St., Bridgeport, PA 19405 on Monday, July 27, 2009 at 10:00am. His viewings are Sunday evening from 6 to 8pm at The Bacchi-Courtney Funeral Home & Crematory, Ltd., 805 DeKalb St. (Rt. 202), Bridgeport, PA 19405 and Monday morning from 9:00 to 9:50am, at the church. Interment in Valley Forge Memorial Gardens, King of Prussia.In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Jay's memory to the American Cancer Society's Upper Merion Relay for Life, 700 Horizon Circle, Chalfont, PA 18914.www.bacchicourtney.com
