Joseph J. "Joe" Brady Jr. passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 9, 2012 at Montgomery Hospital in Norristown, PA. He was 75. Mr. Brady was a resident of Norristown, PA. He worked as a supervisor for Markel Corp. in Plymouth for 20 years and Hartstrings in King of Prussia, PA for 5 years. Joe was a member of Valley Forge Baptist Temple in Collegeville, PA. He was also a member of the Norristown Fire Department/Fire Police, Montgomery Hose Fire Company, the Montgomery County Fire Police Association and the PA State Fire Police Association. Joe's hobbies included Nascar, football, fishing, painting, woodworking, reading, playing Yatzee and spending summers in the mountains.Mr. Brady was a US Army veteran, serving from 1956 to 1962.Born in Norristown, PA on May 19, 1936, he was a son of the late Joseph J. Sr. and Eleanor H. (White) Brady. Surviving is his loving family including his wife of 52 years, Ada B. (Miers) Brady; a son, Duane J. Brady, Sr. and his wife, Stephanie, of Pottstown, PA; 3 daughters: Darlene E. McArthur and her husband, William, of Cornelius, NC, Denise L. Breslow and her husband, Gregory, of Norristown, PA and Holly L. Davis and her husband, Peter, of Conshohocken, PA; 8 grand-children: Amber, William J., Eric, Desiree, Heather, Duane Jr., Ashley and Abigail; 4 great-grandchildren: Skylar, Ryan, Avidan and Brenda; 2 brothers, William H. Brady and his wife, Mary Ann, of King Manor, PA and James R. Brady and his wife, Pam, of Gilbertsville, PA; 2 sisters, Claudia Smith of Oaks, PA and Betty M. Keeler of Naples, FL; and many nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by a sister, Patricia Witzel. Relatives and friends are invited to Joe's Funeral Service at The Bacchi Funeral Home & Crematory, Ltd., 805 Dekalb St. (Rt. 202), Bridgeport, PA 19405 on Tuesday, May 15, 2012 at 10:00 am. His viewings are Monday evening from 6 to 8 pm and Tuesday morning from 9 to 9:50 am, both at the funeral home.
